- Your jewelry will tolerate an occasional dunking, but please do not wear it while swimming, bathing, etc. Exposure to water will compromise the strength of the stringing materials and could cause breakage.
- Most necklaces and bracelets are strung on SoftTouch™ beading wire which is nylon coated stainless steel. This material is very strong - but because it is actually wire, bending it back and forth can cause it to snap. Similarly, wearing a bracelet that is too small can place added stress on the wire and cause breakage.
- Clasps, wires and most metal beads are sterling silver and/or 14K gold-filled and can be cared for the same way you care for your other silver and gold jewelry.
- Since pearls are delicate, you may want to wipe them with a soft cloth after wearing — this will help avoid an accumulation of dirt and will prevent perspiration, body lotion, perfumes, etc. from eating away at the nacre.
I use the strongest materials available in Halcyon Designs jewelry, but there are steps you can take to keep your jewelry in good condition so you can continue to enjoy it for years to come.
